“Atos announces new line of Big-Data appliances for SAP HANA® based on bullion S”

Atos, an international leader in digital services, announces a range of Big-Data appliances for running the SAP HANA platform, based on bullion S, the latest generation of x86 servers developed by Bull.

These appliances help accelerate performance of business intelligence (BI) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions and are specifically dedicated to supporting Big-Data, in-memory applications. They are designed for real-time decision making, helping customers unlock new insights, and improve business productivity and IT efficiency.

This new range of appliances leverages the scalability of the bullion S server and the performance of EMC storage to optimize small to extra-large system landscapes running SAP HANA.

The Bull bullion S2, S4 and S8 appliances have been certified for operating SAP HANA*.  Certification was achieved on bullion S2, S4 and S8 servers equipped with Intel® Xeon® E7 v2 processors and a VNX5400 unified storage system from EMC, providing outstanding flexibility, performance and cost optimization.

“EMC has been collaborating with ATOS and Bull for many years, developing innovative solutions to help our customers transform their datacenters and improve their IT performance,” said Jeremy Burton, President, Products and Marketing, EMC Corporation. “These new appliances for SAP HANA represent a step forward in the extended relationship between our companies. The combination of bullion S servers and EMC market-leading VNX unified storage solutions will help to secure the deployment of small to large scale projects involving SAP HANA.”.

These new offerings build on ATOS’s experience in successful delivery of solutions involving SAP® software. They entail end-to-end support, including infrastructure design, architecture optimization and exceptional project deliverables.

“This announcement is at the heart of our ambition to support customers in their journey towards Big Data – delivering an outstanding, agile and performant IT infrastructure,” said Pierre Barnabé, Chief Operating Officer, Big Data & Security, Atos. “With our bullion™ line of servers, we are providing a powerful offering that will help customers in their digital transformation.”

Through SAP’s program for SAP HANA tailored data center integration, customers can combine certified bullion S appliances with external storage and networking hardware from SAP partners to build their own customized deployment infrastructure for SAP HANA.
