New marketing campaign to showcase how Atos Business Technologists will set Personal Bests at London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

LOCOG Chair, Seb Coe, and Steve Cram join Atos in making London 2012 Personal Best pledges

Atos, the worldwide Information Technology (IT) Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, has today unveiled its new marketing platform ahead of London 2012: Personal Bests to Everyone's Progress.

The announcement comes as Atos, together with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), have successfully completed the final Technical Rehearsal of the Games IT system. This marks the culmination of more than 200,000 hours of meticulous testing as Atos Business Technologists strive to achieve a new Personal Best for London 2012.

Personal Bests to Everyone's Progress places Atos Business Technologists at the heart of the campaign and will be integrated across all communication channels. It focuses on the essential role Atos plays in delivering the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which is the largest sports IT contract of all time.

To support the campaign, key people responsible for the successful delivery of London 2012 have made personal best pledges. The first four have been made by Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO of Atos; Jacques Rogge, President of the IOC; Seb Coe, Chair of LOCOG; and Steve Cram, London 2012 Ambassador for Atos. Each pledge represents a personal ambition for the Games and underpins the Personal Bests to Everyone's Progress campaign.

Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO, Atos
“I will inspire the Atos team of Business Technologists for London 2012 to achieve their Personal Bests for the Games and flawlessly design, deliver and manage the world's largest sports IT contract.”

Jacques Rogge, President, International Olympic Committee
“I will do my utmost, on behalf of the IOC, to ensure the Olympic Values are shared across the globe.”

Seb Coe, Chair, London 2012 Organising Committee
“I will give my personal best to use the London 2012 Games to inspire a generation through the power of sport and help create lasting change for Britain and the rest of the world.”

Steve Cram, UK London 2012 Ambassador, Atos
“I will strive to enhance the viewer's experience during London 2012 with real-time, relevant information on the athletes and their achievements.”

With less than two months to go until the Games get underway, the IT, communications, media, sports and technology security systems are now in place, all relying on the IT infrastructure Atos has successfully built.

Atos Business Technologists, who have been involved in every Olympic Games since Salt Lake City 2002, will be striving to achieve their own Personal Bests for London 2012 in the same way any athlete will be when they compete. By achieving a Personal Best for the Games, Atos will help deliver the platform to create the greatest Games yet, with 30% more information being processed by its Business Technologists than ever before.

Personal Bests to Everyone's Progress highlights the unrivalled experience of Atos at the Olympic Games and challenges colleagues, customers and athletes to go further than ever before and set new Personal Bests. The technical skills of the Atos Business Technologists, unseen by the billions watching in the stadiums and at home, will be crucial in delivering a flawless Games experience.

Commenting on the launch of the Personal Bests campaign, Patrick Adiba, Executive Vice President, Olympics and Major Events at Atos said:

“It's fitting for us to put our Business Technologists at the heart of this campaign because it is their unwavering dedication to achieve their personal bests that has enabled us to produce outstanding results at every Olympic and Paralympic Games since our contract began with Salt Lake City in 2002.

“Our Personal Bests pledge will help galvanise the entire company and drive us towards our goal of making London 2012 the benchmark for technology at future major sporting events. I would like to thank Jacques Rogge, Seb Coe, and Steve Cram for joining our CEO, Thierry Breton, in making the first pledges.”

With the final Technical Rehearsal for London 2012 successfully completed, Atos Business Technologists are ready to deliver their personal best and the platform for a flawless Games for spectators and athletes alike. It will ensure the world's media have access to statistics and results within 0.3 seconds of them being recorded at London 2012 venues.
