Paris, 20 December 2012

Atos, an international IT services company, today announced it is cooperating with SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) to help customers achieve their sustainability goals, operational excellence, profitable growth, and business continuity. Atos will work closely with SAP to provide customers with cutting-edge expertise in the areas of sustainability and IT, relying on Atos recognized leadership in sustainability and SAP® solutions for sustainability. Atos is continuously looking for ways to help its customers achieve excellence in sustainability and will leverage SAP solutions for energy and sustainable operations to help customers reach their sustainability and operations goals.

Atos plans to work with SAP in emerging markets, as well in established markets to deliver sustainability solutions including environment, health, and safety management; risk management and compliance; sustainability reporting; and energy management. Both companies will work together to deliver SAP solutions for sustainability on the Canopy Cloud platform. More specifically, the SAP Sustainability Performance Management analytic application will be offered from the cloud. Canopy is an Atos company powered by EMC² and VMware and its Cloud Mobile Enterprise Application Platform-as-a-service is based on SAP mobile technology.

“We believe that IT is the engine for sustainable growth and progress for companies, organizations and society at large,” said Philippe Mareine, executive vice president and general secretary in charge of Corporate and Social Responsibility, Atos. “That's why our partnership with SAP is so significant. Our shared vision to improve the sustainability of our customers is perfectly matched. Atos is recognized as a global leader in sustainability, having been top A+ certified by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and having entered the DJSI European index. Joining forces with SAP on sustainability efforts will allow Atos to accelerate its global sustainability results with its customers by delivery via the cloud.”

As part of Atos commitment to a future where businesses demonstrate responsibility toward society and the environment, the company has also developed a services practice focused on sustainability. As a global partner of SAP, Atos offers a quick-start solution for SAP Sustainability Performance Management, helping customers better manage their own sustainability programs with improved visibility, tracking and reporting against objectives. Atos also offers SAP solutions to help companies assess and mitigate their carbon impact and reduce environmental, health and safety risks.

Robert Moeyens, application manager at Taminco, a global chemicals producer, illustrates: “At Taminco we aim for profitable growth through environmental care and social responsibility. We partner with Atos for its solid expertise in sustainability solutions, especially combined with its knowledge of SAP solutions. Given SAP's leading position in sustainability products, we feel that relying on these two global leaders in sustainability – SAP and Atos – will help safeguard the success of Taminco's social and environmental commitments.

“We looked for a system that would streamline both current and future regulatory compliance while lowering operational risks and costs. SAP and Atos showed us the unique proposition of running the SAP Environment, Health, and Safety Management application on SAP ERP. This integration between logistics and SAP EHS Management brought unmatched possibilities. Atos delivered the solution on time and budget, tailored to our most pressing needs. Today we have a system that not only supports our current business and markets, but also accelerates entry in new business and markets.”

“Implementing strategies for more sustainable operations is of growing importance to us all, and SAP, through cooperation with our partner ecosystem, is committed to helping customers achieve these goals,” said Scott Bolick, vice president, Solution Management, Energy and Sustainability Solutions, SAP. “These latest efforts with our partner Atos will help joint customers continue to co-innovate with us and develop solutions that can increase their energy efficiency and become more sustainable businesses.”
