“Atos Origin to provide IT at Holland Heineken House”
Utrecht/Zoeterwoude, 10 July 2008
Project to be completed in record time of two weeks
The information technology and telephony at the Holland Heineken House in Beijing is to be provided by Atos Origin, the two partners Heineken Nederland and Atos Origin Netherlands announced today. Both companies have been present at and associated with the Olympic Games for many years. Atos Origin is the worldwide IT partner for the Olympic Games. The Holland Heineken House has been the venue where NOC*NSF has entertained its guests and where Dutch medal-winners have been honoured since 1992. The Holland Heineken House is regarded as the number one meeting place for everyone who supports the Dutch Olympic Team, and has gained an outstanding reputation worldwide.
Atos Origin is honoured to have been chosen as a partner. Marianne Hewlett, SVP Marketing & Communications at Atos Origin Netherlands: "We regard our appointment as IT Partner to the Holland Heineken House as proof of the trust that a major brand like Heineken places in us. It is exciting for two Dutch companies to be working together to ensure the smooth running of such an impressive project. Heineken has demonstrated at many Games that the Holland Heineken House is an outstanding promotional tool for the Netherlands, and we have demonstrated our ability to handle complex IT projects at many Games. So it is wonderful to be able to join forces on this project.”
Heineken Nederland is also delighted with its collaboration with Atos Origin. Dennis Hogenboom, Senior Sponsor Manager of Heineken Nederland with responsibility for the Holland Heineken House: “Reliable and fast internet connections are an absolute must for the Holland Heineken House. So we are delighted to have found a world-renowned partner in Atos Origin. The complexity of a project such as this - and, of course, the short timelines - call for flexibility and commitment, and Atos Origin stands out in both these areas.”
A special feature of this project is that it has to be implemented in record time. Atos Origin will have just two weeks to equip the Holland Heineken House with all the IT infrastructure. This includes all the connections for the press centre, the IT equipment for the NOC*NSF and Heineken offices, as well as the connections for the payment system and the equipment for the conference rooms at the Holland Heineken House. The makers of various Dutch TV and radio programmes will be using Atos Origin telecommunication lines. Media users will also have special high-speed internet lines at their disposal. Employees of Atos Origin China and the Netherlands will be working closely to bring this project to fruition.
The Holland Heineken House, which is hosted by NOC*NSF, has public rooms, business lounges for NOC*NSF and its guests and business partners, press and media rooms, a wide range of catering facilities, an office of the Dutch embassy in China, facilities for athletes and a special VIP room. The Holland Heineken House will be open to Dutch and international fans, VIPs, the media and Dutch and Chinese business representatives, and is regarded as the number one meeting place for everyone who supports the Dutch Olympic team. The public rooms at the Holland Heineken House have a total area of about 2,500 m2.
