“Atos Consulting chosen by MMA to partner merger with Azur as Part of Covéa”

Paris – April 8, 2008

The MMA Group selected Atos Consulting, a division of Atos Origin, to conduct the feasibility study and lead the operational deployment of its merger with Azur as part of Covéa.

Atos Consulting's role in guiding, managing and coordinating this promising project supported the quick, successful and efficient combination of the two companies.

The new entity, operating under the MMA brand, is France's third largest general insurer, with three million customers.

"We chose Atos Consulting for its ability to lead large-scale merger projects and successfully translate strategy into operational results," said Christian Baudon, MMA's Chief Executive Officer. "We worked together in a climate of trust throughout the entire merger process. Atos Consulting's experts paid careful attention to our needs and provided a high level of expertise throughout the process, enabling us to make fast, steady progress and respect the timetable and commitments made at the start of this strategic project."

As part of its assignment, Atos Consulting's business transformation specialists defined the merger's fundamentals, target organization and implementation process, making sure to preserve each company's identity, network features and unique customer base. After operationally completing the first phase of the plan, which involved preparing the products for sale, Atos Consulting helped operating managers lead and coordinate project tasks, facilitating their ownership of the transformation process and paving the way for the following stages, including migration issues and life insurance operations.

These two phases enabled the new entity to offer its agents an aligned product range via a shared information system and the same resources and processes, backed by an optimized network of agents. With the advantage of critical mass, the new mutual insurer was fully prepared to enter the marketplace, providing uninterrupted customer sales and services.

"We have a longstanding, close relationship with the MMA Group," said Catherine Poncet, Partner Atos Consulting. "Our consultants' neutrality and ability to coordinate different teams—particularly the business and IT teams—were instrumental in fulfilling this complex assignment. Thanks to Atos Consulting's in-depth expertise and experience in managing mergers, we leveraged all of our advisory and transformation capabilities to successfully complete the project."
