“Atos Origin and Requisite Technology announce global partnership to launch Enterprise Product Content Management Solution”

Paris/Amsterdam – 7 June, 2004

Atos Origin, a leading international information technology (IT) services company, and Requisite Technology, a leading provider of product content technology to large enterprises, today announced a global partnership agreement to provide product content solutions to large discrete and process manufacturing organizations. The two companies will jointly provide supplier enablement services, content cleansing services, content management tools and technology, as well as large-scale integrated business outsourcing services. The agreement will initially focus on Atos Origin's four largest countries: France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Germany.

Structured product content - one of the last remaining cost cutting frontiers within large manufacturing corporations - affects buyers, plant managers and design engineers as they try to access product and supplier data scattered across the organization in disparate systems and inventories. The Atos Origin/Requisite Enterprise Product Content Management (EPCM) solution will help companies create a unified repository of shared and visible product content that helps cut costs and enables strategic sourcing by:

  • Consolidating disparate product content from internal and external sources into a single catalogue that gives users a single view of product information in multiple inventories.
  • Promoting product content visibility with a schema that maps to existing structures through the use of patented search technology and robust content management tools.
  • Integrating with enterprise applications and business processes to create a consolidated enterprise content environment that enables rapid deployment.

“With a large business outsourcing base upon which to build, Atos Origin is poised to solve the enterprise product content challenge, one of the most severe cost and time-to-market problems facing large manufacturing enterprises,” said Dominique Illien, Atos Origin Board member, responsible for the Group's Managed Operations. “High quality structured content is an essential requirement for enterprises and we believe Requisite's unique technology combined with our full lifecycle services will deliver substantial cost savings and increased business process improvements for our customers.”

The joint solution offered today, complements Atos Origin's comprehensive service delivery capability in managing structured and unstructured content. The group will deliver added value to customers by not only providing traditional application outsourcing, but also offering in-depth catalogue content services which large enterprises have been demanding for several years.

Atos Origin and Requisite—SAP's catalogue technology and services partner since 1999—will target large SAP users as well as global companies using other e-procurement and plant MRO applications. The EPCM solution has already been adopted by Akzo Nobel, the international pharmaceutical, coatings, and chemicals company, for a worldwide e-procurement program, built on its SAP application. The deployment includes managing and validating the flow of supplier product content into the company's e-procurement system.

"This partnership is a natural extension of Requisite's channel strategy and leverages Atos Origin's position as a top systems integrator in Europe. We're delighted to have the opportunity to integrate our leading technology into their offerings," said Larry Lenhart, Requisite's CEO. "Now customers can realize much quicker Return On Investment and get a "one stop" solution for product content management and services without contracting with separate consultants, integrators or hosting partners."
