“Patrick Wetzler: Atos Odyssée partner, Banking division”

Paris – May 26 2004

Patrick Wetzler, 49, and a graduate of the ‘Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines' (the National School of Mining Engineering in Paris), has joined Atos Odyssée, the Atos Origin group's consulting division in France. In his role as a partner in the banking sector, he will be responsible for information system assignments and major commercial banking projects.

With nearly 12 years experience at the Crédit Agricole, Patrick has developed finely-tuned expertise in approaching banking problems, whether they be organisational, IT or human resources-based. Appointed as Director of IT Studies and then Director of Human Resources, Patrick Wetzler experimented with steering the first merger between two regional French banks from several different angles.
Having set up a structure specialising in the design and sales of financial software packages in 1993, Patrick then moved into the consulting sector on a permanent basis, and in 1995 joined FBO (“Finance Bourse Organisation”), which was subsequently bought out by KPMG and then by CSC Peat Marwick. Named a partner within the “financial services” business-unit, he was in charge of IT strategy assignments, the steering of major projects, audits and the improvement of performances vis-à-vis banks and credit establishments.

Patrick Wetzler joined Atos Odyssée in February 2004 as a partner in the banking division. His principal task will be to develop and steer information system assignments (migration of information systems, development plans, IT strategy etc...) and major organisational projects (optimisation of procedures, audits etc...) in the commercial banking sector. One of the partners in the management team announced: “We are delighted that Patrick Wetzler has agreed to join us and wish him all the best in his future here. His experience and skills should enable us to reinforce our presence in what is one of the firm's historic sectors”.
