“Atos Origin Quality Process Certified”

Paris – May 6th, 2004

Payment and card processing services certified AFAQ ISO 9001:2000 The entire range of Atos Origin's payment and card processing services delivered through Atos Worldline are now ISO 9001:2000 certified, thereby completing a process initiated in 2000. The certifications demonstrate the company's commitment to continuously improving the quality of its services and illustrate the effectiveness of its management system.

Atos Origin's large projects and partnerships development business has earned its first AFAQ ISO 9001:2000 certification, which will be valid for the next three years.

All of the operations running e-transaction and credit card payment processing services—ranging from ATM management, payment authorization and acquisition services to secure Internet payment and Moneo e-purse solutions—were certified at the end of 2003. Among other strengths, the auditor singled out “the intelligently implemented and exceptionally easy-to-use information system, providing extensive transparency for document and data interchange.”

The business in charge of analyzing administrative file completeness and compliance, telephone support and output management, in particular for large banking industry and government accounts, passed its second follow-up audit in November 2003, with a remarkable “zero noncompliance and zero remarks" scorecard for the third year in a row, thus completing a full certification cycle.

The Chèques Service check guarantee business also successfully completed its second ISO 9001:2000 follow-up certification audit for its call centers, collection and customer support operations, all of which have been certified since 2001. Checks are still used for 30% of payment transactions in France.

The system and network data processing units, which were among the first Atos Origin units to have completed the entire AFAQ ISO 9001:2000 certification cycle in July 2001, have now passed the second follow-up audit in 2003.

All these certifications concern processes operated by Atos Worldline, Atos Origin European subsidiary, dedicated to delivering IT-related BPO services.

“Since 2000, a number of Atos Origin businesses have introduced a structured process to establish, maintain and develop a quality management system compliant with the ISO 9001 standard. That standard is well-suited to service activities and serves as the basic instrument and springboard for future improvement in our operations. The process illustrates our dedication to meeting customer requirements by delivering carefully defined services in compliance with contract commitments,” says Jaime Estapa, Atos Origin Quality Director.

ISO standards are the international benchmark for the certification of quality management systems. The ISO 9001:2000 certification audit was conducted by AFAQ, France's leading and one of the world's foremost certification organizations.
