Providing front line staff with the information they need, when they need it
Atos Origin, a leading international IT services company, today announced that it has been selected the Prime Integrator for the Home Office Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND) under a transformational outsourcing contract worth around £200 million over six years.
Atos Origin will take over the design, build and operation of the IND IT infrastructure including helpdesks, networks and IT applications. As prime integrator, it will work with IND and its other IT partners to increase collaborative working and improve IT performance, so that front line staff have access to the information they need, when they need it, as well as enabling customers to communicate via new channels.
“Atos Origin demonstrated to us that they have the expertise and understanding to successfully deliver the IND's IT. Investing in its infrastructure is part of the directorate drive to continually improve the working environment for its staff as well as ensuring value for money,” said Home Office minister Des Browne.
“We are delighted to have won this contract and are looking forward to working with IND to ensure that through intelligent use of IT, IND employees have the information they need to do their jobs even better so that customers consistently receive a timely and fair handling of all applications,” said Derek Ward, head of Public Sector at Atos Origin. “This contact reinforces the leading position of Atos Origin as a major provider of IT services and solutions to the government.”
