“AtosEuronext releases Pilot Electronic Payment Solution for CB 5.2 EMV standard”

In line with the migration of payment terminals to the new EMV standard in Europe, AtosEuronext Payment Solutions has obtained approval to deploy its CB 5.2 EMV pilot of Worldline Pay Point of Sale - SoftPOS, its integrated payment solution, and of the VeriFone PINpad SC 5000, which AtosEuronext has upgraded to the CB 5.2 EMV standard.
In compliance with the schedule imposed by GIE Cartes Bancaires and Visa EU, AtosEuronext is continuing to make progress in migrating its merchant clients to the CB 5.2 EMV standard. As part of its partnership with VeriFone, AtosEuronext has just completed its new version of SoftPOS CB 5.2, which can now be piloted at client companies.

The SoftPOS CB 5.2 software solution provides all major payment-related functions: debit, credit, and cancel/reversal for all types of bank cards. The solution is using the SC 5000 PINpad from VeriFone, which reduces transaction time through its 32-bit micro controller with a fast, high-performance cryptography processor.
Optimal security in the SoftPOS solution is guaranteed by Level 1 and 2 EMVCo certification, Visa PED certification, AES, 3-DES and RSA encryption, and SDA, DDA and ciphered PIN authentication.
The migration to EMV makes it possible for merchants and banks to have protection against fraud and to take advantage of a continuously evolving platform. In addition, cardholders will be better protected in France and abroad. The CB 5.2 solution offers the same safety levels as the EMV standard, and makes it possible to read the chip instead of the magnetic stripe on international cards. It also offers new services such as processing of customer loyalty data, electronic purses, and e-tickets.

SoftPOS 5.2 will soon offer other functions. In compliance with the French MPE (Electronic Payment Manual) specifications, the solution will be extended to interactive self-service terminals that provide merchants with payment functionality based on MPA V5.2 (Payment Manual for Automates).
With its highly modular SoftPOS CB5.2 architecture, AtosEuronext also plans to adapt its client module to payment terminals offering TCP/IP connections. Thus, SoftPOS can be used by clients who do not want or are unable to use an integrated payment system.
Now with its adherence to EMV, SoftPOS has become truly international, allowing major retail chains to use the same payment system in parallel in multiple countries, with cross-border transactions and a high level of software module reuse.
In addition, AtosEuronext is already marketing AnimCo, a real-time customer loyalty solution used by retail companies in France and across Europe.
