“Paperless Invoicing Cuts Management Costs in Half”
Paris, November 3, 2003
Atos Origin has introduced @Fact, an electronic invoice processing application. The solution, which fully integrates France's new electronic tax reporting regulations, streamlines and optimizes management of the billing cycle with end-to-end, web-enabled services.
Paperless processing of invoices across the billing cycle has long been technically feasible. Today, it has become useful and cost effective in France following the country's adoption of the December 20, 2001 European e-billing directive.
As a long-term partner to some of France's largest corporations, with extensive expertise in processing financial flows, Atos Origin is particularly well positioned to introduce @Fact. The service is billed on the basis of the number of invoices processed, with rates declining as volumes increase. This means that high-volume companies see an immediate improvement in their billing process and a 50% reduction in billing costs. In addition, @Fact does not require any upfront investment in infrastructure.
@Fact is a full-web solution, with information displayed online in real-time, thereby eliminating the large PDF files that can clog mailboxes and corporate servers. Upon e-mail notification, buyers connect directly to the site to view their invoices, which, after workflow validation, are sent to the company's payables department. Buyers can easily track invoices through management, data analysis and reporting modules.
Suppliers also reduce costs and increase productivity by obviating the need to send paper invoices and by being able to track customer acceptance in real time. What's more, disputes are settled faster, thereby shortening days sales outstanding.
@Fact is intended for any sized company that issues and receives several hundred thousands of invoices a year in such industries as manufacturing, banking, mass retailing and services. Atos Origin is in advanced talks with a number of leading companies in these industries. Designed for pan-European implementation, @Fact is capable of supporting these customers and all of their subsidiaries across Europe.
Because invoices generally flow from a supplier to a buyer ERP system, @Fact has been designed directly in PeopleSoft's e-Settlements solution, the market standard, to ensure a seamless ERP interface.
@Fact delivers the following web-enabled functions:
- Reception of e-invoice files.
- Invoice control and refusal management.
- Automatic routing to the right manager, who is notified by e-mail.
- Full-web display of invoices.
- Collaborative management for the buyer.
- Interactive dispute management via e-mail notifications between buyer and seller.
- Automatic reconciliation of invoices with the initial order.
- Possible interface with the receivables/payables department.
- Electronic signature and legal storage, enabling electronic tax reporting.
With @Fact, Atos Origin has strengthened its natural role as a processor of financial flows, building on more than 20 years' experience in bank data processing, secure payments and customer relationship management.
