“Atos Origin’s Operations Management Business Earns Wider ISO 9001:2000 Certification”

Atos Origin has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification by the French Quality Assurance Association (AFAQ) for the activities of its Networks and Shared Services business, which manages engineering, data processing and logistic operations for IT networks and platforms deployed for outsourcing clients.

The certification was the result of a gradual process introduced in 2000, whose successive annual renewals have driven steady improvement in the organization and in operating performance, while broadening the scope of activities earning certification.

More generally, these actions are part of the structured process that Atos Origin is implementing to establish, maintain and develop a Quality Management System compliant with the ISO 9001:2000 standard.

"This standard is well suited to service activities," says Jaime Estapa, Atos Origin's Quality Director, "since it enhances the focus on customer satisfaction. It is poised to become a fundamental benchmark and a springboard for future improvements in our operations."

Atos Origin's quality management system is based on four core principles:

  • Meeting customer requirements.
  • Preventing errors rather than correcting faults.
  • Quantifying costs related to malfunctions.
  • Ensuring continuous process improvement.

These factors are critical to outsourcing activities, which involve the delivery of data processing solutions to a wide range of customers with a broad array of services and technologies.
