“France Telecom and Atos Origin Sign Innovative Partnership Agreement to Use Viaconferencing Collaborative Work Solution”
Paris - October 8, 2003
France Telecom and Atos Origin have signed a partnership agreement whereby Atos Origin will use France Telecom's Internet-based Viaconferencing collaborative work solution to support and train IT application users.
The agreement specifies that:
- Atos Origin will integrate France Telecom's Viaconferencing service into its "turnkey" training and e-learning offerings.
- Atos Origin training staff will familiarize corporate users, instructors and facilitators with the Viaconferencing solution using dedicated resources.
France Telecom's Viaconferencing solution can be implemented using a standard workstation equipped with a Web browser. It allows users to:
- Immediately set up meetings with co-workers, clients and partners.
- Share documents and/or applications in real time during Web conferences, with the possibility of interactive participation.
- Post presentations or conduct Web tours remotely.
- Demonstrate and test IT applications in real time, train future software users or perform helpdesk operations remotely on client workstations over the Web.
Atos Origin is contributing its methodology and teaching expertise to help familiarize users with France Telecom's Viaconferencing service. In addition, its e-learning experience has helped to quickly identify good practices that will make training more interesting and effective. As a result, the service's features are now impacting the methods used to design and conduct training courses.
The partnership optimizes the support provided to help companies embrace new remote working technologies. It is enhancing the effectiveness of the resources that Atos Origin has developed for its clients and is strengthening its training projects, while making it easier for France Telecom to market the solution.
Corinne Bastid, Audio and Webconferencing Solutions Manager at France Telecom, said: "Viaconferencing enables remote working, meetings and learning in synchronous mode. Atos Origin's skills transfer experience will help us to make it easier for clients to discover and master this new solution."
Robin Ajdari, Training Marketing and Sales Manager at Atos Origin commented: "Viaconferencing will enhance the impact of the resources we use to support IT application changeovers. The service will underpin a variety of initiatives, including startup assistance, software update training and refresher courses. We believe that France Telecom's business rationale for the service perfectly matches demand in a market where the trend is to avoid heavy spending on software licenses for e-learning applications."
