“Desk-Top Asset Outsourcing – Aventis selects Atos Origin to deploy its Help Desk and local support in France”

Atos Origin and Aventis have signed a three-year outsourcing contract covering the deployment and operation of a desk-top Help Desk for all of Aventis' sites in France, as well as for Aventis SA's global headquarters in Strasbourg. Atos Origin also handles local support for Aventis workstations in Antony, south of Paris.
At a time of major changes for corporations and their information systems, Aventis is actively initiating a policy to improve service quality and reduce IT costs. Atos Origin, ranked no. 1 in the French distributed infrastructure market by Pierre Audouin Consultants, has created a customized Help Desk solution for Aventis that fits in with the pharmaceutical group's specific organizational features and IT management strategy.
- The 24/7 service is available in English and French from a specialized Atos Origin platform in the Paris region.
- The platform accesses Aventis' IT system via a dedicated, secure link set up and operated by Atos Origin.
- Atos Origin organizes and operates the telephone resources.
- Aventis maintains control over its IT system and future upgrades.
- A detailed reporting system shows the volume of calls for each of the 20 Aventis sites covered by the contract and tracks Atos Origin's compliance with its service commitments.
- Atos Origin also handles local missions for the 3,000 workstations in Antony and Melun, France.
After a four-month ramp-up period, the Atos Origin Help Desk now handles 8,500 calls a month from some 9,000 users at the 20 Aventis sites.
Atos Origin's Help Desk business in France fields 90,000 calls a month, managed by 300 employees at five centers in the Paris region and other parts of France. Help Desk customers include BNP Paribas, Renault, Euronext, Ernst & Young, Péchiney, France Printemps, Vivarte, Elior, ….
