“Atos Origin wins significant outsourcing deal”

Outsourcing of the highest quality: Atos Origin takes over the entire Walsrode Industrial Park's IT services for 10 years, enabling Walsrode to concentrate on core business activities
From 1st January 2003, Wolff Walsrode AG and all the enterprises located on the Walsrode Industrial Park have handed over the operation of their entire IT infrastructure to IT and e-business services provider Atos Origin for an initial period of 10 years. With a total of around 2,500 employees, the industrial park contains eight enterprises, operating throughout the world in the chemical and plastics processing industry.

By outsourcing the entire IT services, Wolff Walsrode AG, a 100% subsidiary of Bayer AG, is carrying on with its commitment to concentrate on core business activities, whilst still continuing to develop and optimise the scope of IT services.
The IT services were previously provided by technology service provider Probis GmbH, a subsidiary of Wolff Walsrode. The total outsourcing includes:
- taking over and operating the existing hardware, including 100 servers, 1000 desktops, data and communication networks
- taking over the extensive project work, including migration from SAP/R2 to SAP/R3
- the transparent and continual development of the IT services
integrating around 35 employees

Wolff Walsrode AG owns the Walsrode Industrial Park, and is the parent company of the 8 chemical and plastics processing enterprises which operate from the park. The core products manufactured by Wolff Cellulosics are highly effect cellulose products for a variety of applications including building materials, printing inks, paints, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food products and technical specialist applications. The film sector is handled by Epurex Films, CaseTech , Walothen and Wipak Walsrode, part of the Finnish Wihuri group. The services provider, Probis GmbH focuses on technical and site maintenance. With this outsourcing deal the Industrial Park is strengthening its international position as a competitive industrial site for the processing industry.
