“Arius and Atos Origin Sign Partnership Agreement”

Paris, France - February 19, 2001

BNP Paribas subsidiary Arius and Atos Origin's Outsourcing Division are combining their skills to offer an end-to-end, scalable IT infrastructure management solution.

Arius, a BNP Paribas subsidiary specialized in scalable leasing and financing solutions for corporate IT assets, and Atos Origin, a leading provider of IT and outsourcing services, have announced the creation of a joint offer dedicated to delivering scalable information infrastructure management solutions. Building on the partners' skills and strong service fit, the offer provides a fully array of services to manage the efficient upgrade of information assets and systems.

Arius has extensive skills in scalable leasing and financial management of IT systems. It also leverages synergies with other BNP Paribas subsidiaries-Lexys, Déploiements & Technologies, AR Systèmes and Gotham-to provide such related services as IT asset auditing, equipment trade-ins, supply of new hardware or clearance inventory, and website hosting.

Atos Origin, a leading European provider of outsourcing services, supports companies looking to outsource and delegate management of their IT systems. The company's Outsourcing Division is a front-ranked source of operations outsourcing solutions that include help desk and asset deployment services.

As companies today refocus on their core business, they are looking for affordable, upgradeable IT systems. This is why Arius and Atos Origin are combining their highly compatible skills, with the goal of helping clients optimize and better understand their information systems.

"By listening to our customers, we found a real need for a comprehensive solution that fully integrates the requirements of a scalable IT system-and not just an answer to a particular problem, such as the administration of IT assets," said Arius CEO Pascal Janssen. "We are committed to providing companies with a steady stream of highly accurate technical, physical and financial data about their IT assets, thus freeing them to focus on their core businesses."

The technological and organizational base for the new service offer is a shared IT system developed jointly by Arius and Atos Origin. With it, the two partners can consistently offer appropriate solutions that enable companies to quickly and easily upgrade their systems as needed and to benefit from technological and financial services with a clear understanding of the issues involved. "We share the motivations of our clients, who rely on the support of professionals to guarantee the functional and technological scalability of their IT systems," said Francis Delacourt, Executive Vice President of Atos Origin Outsourcing. "This is why partnering with Arius was a natural way to enhance our ability to integrate the financial component of these projects. Our proprietary information system is crucial to delivering our services. Now, with our joint offer, we can deploy a seamless system that ensures the infrastructure operates smoothly throughout its life cycle."

Combining their skills and implementing a new organization will allow Arius and Atos Origin to offer a solution that is unique in its scope, while providing responsiveness, flexibility and a high level of service commitment.
