“Atos Announces 1st Quarter Sales”

Atos, a leading European information technology services provider, announced today that revenue for the three months ending December 31, 1999 rose 9% to EUR 277.4 million from EUR 255.0 million for the prior year period.

To facilitate meaningful comparisons, the aforementioned prior year period pertains to continuing businesses and therefore excludes revenues from divestitures made in fiscal 1999. Reported prior year period revenues totaled EUR 267.2 million.

First quarter revenue growth was driven by strong development in particularly the Services and the Multimedia division. Both divisions enjoyed continued increased spending by clients in the growing fields of customer relationship management and e-commerce. Systems Integration and Outsourcing revenue growth was impacted by the y2k slowdown, particularly in the financial services market, as major financial institutions locked down their information systems in preparation for a smooth transition to year 2000.

Atos is dedicated to helping companies grow and develop faster through a better use of new technologies. In particular, it is strategically focused on providing value-added solutions in electronic commerce, customer relationship management, and supply chain management. With a staff of over 11,000 people in 11 European countries, Atos reported fiscal 1999 revenue of EUR 1,083 million, of which 33% was derived outside France.
