Making sense of AI in the Digital 20s

AI + Ethics

At Atos, we have long regarded the place of AI in society as one of the most urgent – and exciting – topics for discussion. Our Digital Vision for AI report brought forth important questions on the power and social impact of this technology, and later gave rise to Atos’ AI+Ethics campaign, which examined some of the most pressing ethical and policy questions with respect to the application of AI. This led to the publication of Hardwiring Trust, a report distilling key aspects of the debate surrounding trust, understanding and the ethical application of data.

Now we are taking the debate further, harnessing the collective thought power of the experts, practitioners and opinion formers who have taken part in our conversations in recent months, together with new voices at the cutting edge of AI development and application. Within the Digital Society campaign, we will address new critical challenges including the use of AI as a public health tool and its interaction with personal data, and will continue to build on the principle that to explain AI through the lens of ethics means not only to create awareness and promote its benefits to wider society, but also to explore what governance might be required to resolve potential risks and issues.
