What you’ll be doing:
Atos is trusted to run the infrastructure of high-profile organisations. You’ll ensure that trust is well placed. This is a technical role that will see you providing support to our clients across both servers and operating systems. Specialising in Unix or Wintel, you’ll ensure these crucial assets are working exactly as they should be – troubleshooting issues that arise, but also proactively looking for ways to improve stability and performance!
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Investigating and resolving incidents
- Carrying out planned maintenance
- Planning and delivering projects (e.g. product upgrades)
- Providing technical input to teams on larger projects (e.g. systems integrations)
- Preparing and producing systems documentation
It’s an excellent opportunity to kickstart your career in a cutting-edge environment. With Atos, you’ll have the opportunity to work with big clients and on projects that make a difference in the real world. You might also find yourself working on an innovative cloud service, a dedicated private infrastructure, or integrating components in the internet of things.
You’ll also learn a lot. As well as your specialism in Unix or Wintel, you’ll gain exposure to a variety of platforms and different technology areas. You’ll receive on-going technical training aligned to your role, both on the job and via formal courses, with the aim of achieving industry-recognised certification.
Put simply, you’ll have everything you need to move into a bigger role – such as Infrastructure Architect, Senior Technician or Project Manager.
Skills we can’t do without
You’ll need an aptitude for technology and a strong analytical approach. A lot of this role is about diagnosing problems, thinking methodically and paying attention to the details. But you’ll also need great interpersonal skills too. You’ll need to document processes and communicate with non-technical audiences with real clarity. A flexible, team-working approach is absolutely crucial, working together to drive results.
If you have a degree in Computer Science or similar, this would be an advantage.
