Database Administrator

What you’ll be doing:

Data is the new currency. That’s why so many high-profile organisations trust Atos to look after their databases as well as their infrastructure. We can ensure the integrity of these vital assets, so they can fully harness their potential and stay ahead of the curve.

You’ll be at the very frontline of this effort. Taking care of all admin duties, you’ll ensure our clients’ databases are properly managed. This will see you addressing day-to-day database issues, but also carrying out planned maintenance to safeguard robustness and reliability.

Your day to day responsibilities include:

  • Investigating and resolving incidents
  • Performing key tasks (e.g. replication, deployment and maintenance)
  • Installing, configuring and upgrading databases
  • Monitoring database capacity and usage
  • Assisting with disaster recovery protocols and procedures

Why apply?

If you’re looking for a fast paced and stimulating environment, this is a superb opportunity. You’ll be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, experiencing first-hand how cutting-edge technology is used in business.

You’ll also enjoy a steep learning curve. As well as your specialism in databases, you’ll gain exposure to a variety of different technology areas and challenges. You’ll receive on-going technical training aligned to your role, both on the job and via formal courses, with the aim of achieving industry-recognised certification.

With the experiences you gain in this role, you could progress into a more senior role within our database team. But equally, you could move into a project management or technology architecture role. The possibilities are varied.

Skills we can’t do without

We’re looking for someone with an aptitude for technology and an analytical approach. A lot of this role is about diagnosing problems, thinking methodically and paying attention to the details. But you’ll need excellent communication skills too – both written and verbal. You’ll have the ability to document processes and connect with non-technical audiences with real clarity. We work as a team here at ATOS and house an open and collaborative workforce, sometimes our projects can stretch past usual work hours, and we endeavour – always to achieve the desired result.

If you have a degree in Computer Science or similar, this would be an advantage.
