Software Tester – Level 4 Apprenticeship

If you’re interested in helping Atos to ensure that software meets specified requirements, works as expected and is fit for purpose, then there’s no better place to start than our Level 4 (18-24 month programme) Software Tester Apprenticeship. During the programme we combine classroom training with hands on experience, with modules designed to teach you both the technical and business skills you need to thrive in a long-term career as a software tester.

You’ll work as part of our AMS Practice, and this area of our transforms, manages, develops, enhances, and maintains custom applications, SaaS, or packaged software by infusing smart automation & robotics, the usage of Agile and DevOps methodologies and a drive towards continuous integration & continuous deployment. They lead in all aspects in the digital transformation of applications, providing advice, design, development, implementation, and ongoing management services.

What you’ll cover

Our Digital Assurance Practice is growing, and we are looking to welcome and hire those who aspire to be talented test professionals, helping to support the growth of the practice and contribute to delivering first class services to our customers.

Our Apprentice Test Analysts are responsible for being flexible and open to learn testing skills, such as analysing, designing, executing, and reporting on tests along with the creation of test data. Using appropriate testing tools, and techniques, ensuring new and amended software, together with any interfaces, performs as specified and intended using technical and functional specifications.

We support all our Software Tester apprentices in achieving a Software Tester level 4 qualification. The programme will give you everything you need to take on a role as a fully-fledged software tester.

Qualifications you’ll achieve as part of your Software Tester Apprenticeship:

  • Level 4 Software Tester Apprenticeship standard (national qualification)
  • ISTQB Foundation Software Tester (international qualification)

Entry requirements

For this scheme you’ll need 5 GCSEs / Scottish National 5’s or equivalent at grades 4-9 / A-C (including English) plus GCSE in Maths grade 6-9 / B or above

AND be educated to level 3 in an IT based subject e.g. A-levels, BTEC Extended diploma, or Level 3 Apprenticeship
