About this scheme

If you’re interested in supporting the future of a global business, through its people, our Human Resources apprenticeship is a great place to start.   During this 12-18 month programme, you’ll learn about the role of the Human Resources function in any organisation and develop all the skills you need to be an effective HR practitioner. Our blended learning approach will provide you with workshops, skills coaching, online training and project work to accompany your on the job experience.

You’ll learn the latest approaches and technical advances that are changing industry practice, and gain expertise in the data and legal frameworks that underpin all aspects of HR.  If you’re a team player, enjoy problem solving and delivering great customer service, this apprenticeship is for you.

What you’ll cover

The programme introduces many of the key activities undertaken by Human Resources and the skills required to be effective. Modules cover the recording, analysis and use of data, supporting change within organisations, resourcing and talent management, best practice in employee relations, performance and reward management, as well as supporting learning and development activities.

Whilst studying you will become a student member of the CIPD giving you access to essential resources for your study and career success. You’ll work towards a recognised industry qualification, giving you Associate professional membership of the CIPD and finish the programme with everything you need to take your next step as a Human Resources professional.

Qualifications you’ll achieve as part of your Human Resources Apprenticeship:

  • CIPD Level 3 Diploma in Human Resources Management

Entry requirements

Our standard entry requirements apply: five GCSEs / Scottish National 5’s or equivalent at grades 4-9 / A-C (including Maths and English). Please note: candidates are not eligible to apply if you already hold a part or complete CIPD qualification.

HR Apprentice

At our HR Advice Centre you’ll be part of a team providing first line HR support to colleagues across the business. You’ll develop a thorough understanding of our policies and the confidence to deal with queries about all aspects of HR including Reward and Recognition, Health and Safety, Learning and Development, Performance Excellence, Employee Relations and Recruitment. With the support of experienced HR practitioners, you’ll get great practical experience, handling day to day policy and procedural queries, as well as involvement in HR projects across the business. Your initiative, flexibility and communication skills will be strengthened by different challenges every day.
