Atos and Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust sign ‘eNotes’ deal

Atos, an international IT services company, today announced a five year deal with the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E). The deal is a partnership between the RD&E, Atos and Fortrus Ltd, which will see existing patients’ records scanned and stored electronically using Fortrus’ clinically validated and global award winning Electronic Records solution – Mobius.

Paula Sussex Senior Vice President at Atos said: “Atos is exceedingly proud to have been selected by the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. From the outset, our partnership objective for this programme of work went beyond just providing high quality records management system. Atos does not simply design, build and deploy IT systems, we transform the way people work. “

Commenting on the partnership, RD&E Medical Director, Dr Vaughan Lewis said: “The partnership between Atos and Fortrus is clearly strong. There seemed to be a common thread that joined the two organisations together, which reflected the ethos we have at the RD&E. Both companies have many years of working within the NHS with proven product and delivery capability.”

The Mobius Electronic Medical Record Solution, chosen by RD&E, has been developed with collaboration and input from over 600 NHS clinicians. The solution utilises the latest Adobe technologies and enables NHS Trusts to leverage their existing IT systems through integration, as well as realising the benefits of converting paper records to digital patient files.

Steve Livermore, MD of Fortrus, said: “Mobius has been built and validated by clinicians with their needs at its heart. It has been designed to address the need for rapid access to patient information. It also provides clinicians with vitally important data, securely, and at the point of care, anywhere in the hospital, and within any community setting. The solution does not simply give people access to the patient’s health record; it provides tools that allow clinicians the ability to access the information relevant to them, instantly, and intuitively.”
