Atos teams up with Portima to launch Belgium’s first digital signing of insurance contracts

Practical and user-friendly system reduces paper piles by digitizing the entire process

Brussels, 10 January 2018

Brussels, January 10 2018 – Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, announces that it is teaming up with Portima, the market leader in applications for Belgian independent insurance brokers, to release PortiSign on Mobile, Belgium’s first solution that allows customers to quickly, efficiently and reliably sign insurance documents using their smartphone or tablet. The solution runs on Atos Canopy Orchestrated Hybrid Cloud and on Portima’s infrastructure.

Atos and Portima have already worked together on various projects. The latest addition to their joint portfolio is PortiSign on Mobile. This application, part of Portima’s overall BRIO4YOU software range, is a first in Belgium. It is a solution that allows customers to receive, read and sign insurance documents using their mobile devices such as a smartphone or tablet. To do so, users follow a secure procedure in which their digital identity is registered and then they only need to enter a pin code.

Atos cloud key to success
In order to enable this kind of environment, Portima decided to migrate a part of the environment to the Atos Canopy Orchestrated Hybrid Cloud, which allows them to adopt a fully flexible ‘pay as you use’ model, and to add processing power and/or capacity when needed.

This new solution responds to a specific need in the insurance world, remarks Claude Rapoport, Managing Director and Member of the Board of Directors at Portima: “When insurance brokers guide their customers through the process of selecting an insurance policy, receive offers and finally draw the contract, this usually involves a lot of paperworkunless you use BRIO4YOU, which allows you to handle the entire process digitally. Now we can also include digitally signing the documents, even on a mobile device, using qualified electronic certificates, compliant to EU Regulation No 910/2014 (eIDAS Regulation) for electronic transactions within the internal European market.”

“Atos is proud to serve as trusted partner enabling this innovative solution”, says Antoine Kerrinckx, Managing Director at Atos in Belgium.”It helps all parties involved to reduce their paper piles by digitizing the entire process, whether they use a mobile device or work from a standard desktop environment, and enables access to the digital documents at any time or place and from any device. We look forward to the next exciting and innovative solutions that Portima will provide through our Hybrid Cloud.”
