Facing the moment of truth
The American Jim Hines was the first athlete to break the 10-second barrier in the 100 meters, winning gold at the 1968 Mexico Olympic Games. At the most recent London 2012 Olympic Games, no fewer than six of the men’s finalists finished in under 10 seconds.
Indeed the Olympic Games are not only a story of tremendous efforts towards perfection. They are a moment of truth – a moment when years of effort and training are condensed into a few seconds in which everything will be revealed. At that moment, there’s no place for doubt. There must be no second thought.
If the Olympics are above all an outstanding human performance moment, they rely on an outstanding support moment. How to provide the ultimate reliability needed in critical times?
