YOMANI wins ‘German Savings Bank Association’ payment terminal competition
|
|
An outstanding performance makes YOMANI, an Atos Worldline contactless payment terminal, most convincing, thanks to a tried and tested configuration, its USB connectivity, its catching design and user-friendly, large colour display.
Decisive product features
This is the conclusion drawn by the judges of the German Savings Bank Association (DSGV), who awarded their 2013 prizes to the winners of the DSGV “contactless payment” payment competition in Berlin, and declared YOMANI the winner in the “Best Terminal Performance” test category.
Entered in the competition jointly by Atos Worldline and REA the terminal was a runaway winner over the competition with such features as “high speed in contactless payments,” and “loading with PIN at the point of sale,” as well as its “user guidance.”
Growth surge in payment transactions
Endowed with prize money totalling €275,000, the competition was organised by the German Savings Bank Association as a reward to promote contactless payments and thus to give card-based payments an additional growth surge in the coming years. Ten winners in all were declared in three categories: “Projects,” “Terminal Performance,” and “Innovation.”
Even better derived products
The YOMANI first generation NFC terminal takes up very little space, has an integrated PIN privacy shield, and simple and clear user guidance. The current performance will in future be topped with a new, faster processor type in the new YOMANI generation -- YOMANI ML and YOMANI XR -- which are about to be launched on the market.

11 April - Atos awarded with ICT Project of the Year in Finland
|
|
Municipal ERP project brings Atos a second consecutive win
Together with its customer Tiera, Atos in Finland has been awarded with the ICT Project of the Year accolade in Finland. Atos and Tiera were awarded for their work in creating a SAP Financial System for the city of Lahti. Atos provided the infrastructure for the system. The winning project was chosen by a panel of top CIO’s in Finland.
Nationwide new approach
The pilot project in Lahti is part of a wider Municipal ERP venture aiming to create common, shared systems and solutions for cities and municipalities across the entire country. Instead of each city producing their own IT systems, they can save in effort and expenses by letting Tiera produce services on a larger scale together with its partners, including Atos.
“The award acts as an encouragement for more cities and municipalities to consider the way they use ICT in enhancing productivity”, the awards panel commented in their verdict. “As in most other developed countries, the population in Finland is ageing and more and more services will be required in the near future. The SAP Financial System project in Lahti shows that investing in new approaches does pay off”, the panel concluded.
Second consecutive win for Atos
This year’s ICT Project of the Year award was already a second consecutive win for Atos. Last year Atos was awarded for the green data center in Helsinki’s Suvilahti district. The eco-friendly center reuses excess heat to provide heating for nearby homes in Helsinki. “We are proud to receive this award from such a notable panel of experts, for the second time in a row. There’s also an interesting link between these two awards: the SAP Financial System of Lahti is run from the Suvilahti green data center, thus warming the homes of our capital”, comments Timo Knuutila, CEO of Atos in Finland.
