“Atos expands Data Loss Prevention offering with Digital Guardian”

Citing continued growth with over 30,000 users worldwide using the joint solution

Atos Bull Data Loss PreventionThrough its technology brand Bull, Atos today announced that its Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Service, in partnership with Digital Guardian, continues to see strong market adoption and customer growth since the launch of the service one year ago. Awareness of the need for data protection is at an all-time high due to the wide visibility of data breaches in the press and the evolving threat landscape.

Atos is enhancing its DLP offering with Digital Guardian’s recently acquired Code Green Network-DLP technology. To help customers limit the risks of data loss anywhere on their estate, Atos has expanded its DLP service to cover endpoints, servers and now networks. The service is unique in that it protects corporations’ sensitive data from both unauthorized insider activity and external threats such as advanced malware using a single security solution. This functionality consolidates two important security offerings into one unified solution. The DLP service can be deployed as a fully managed cloud service or on-premise as part of a system integration program including options that are simple to deploy and offer rapid ROI.

“A shortage of IT security professionals means many organisations do not have the internal know-how and resources to put in place data protection programs,” said Bob Tarzey, Analyst and Director at Quocirca. “Outsourcing data security management to an experienced third party, which can deploy and manage the supporting security technology, should lead to rapid improvements in data protection without having to find and retain the necessary talent.”

The solution has been implemented successfully for more than 30,000 users across a number of target verticals including Financial Services and Manufacturing. In addition, momentum and strong interest continues across diverse markets including Healthcare, Defense, Government, Media and Banking.

In addition to the increasing number of prominent data breaches impacting corporations, there are new regulatory requirements driving customer demand for the Data Loss Prevention Service:

Regulatory Mandates

  • EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation designed to strengthen and unify data protection for individuals within the European Union.
  • The Netherlands “Bill on Notification of data leaks,” which went into effect on January 1, 2016, imposes an obligation on data controllers in the Netherlands to notify the Dutch Data Protection Authority and affected individuals if there has been a data breach while significantly increasing fines for violations of the Dutch Data Protection Act.

“Regulatory mandates that focus on higher data protection requirements and increased transparency and communication for breach disclosures result in companies taking a much closer look at their existing Data Loss Prevention programs,” said Chris Moret, Vice President of Cybersecurity at Atos. “The Data Loss Prevention Service that Atos offers meets customers’ regulatory compliance needs while securing their most sensitive data anywhere that data resides. With our cloud-based service, corporations can expect the highest level of data protection with the fastest time to value.”

Atos has over 4500 security professionals worldwide, who manage 100 million identities every day; monitor 2 million events every hour in Atos Security Operational Centers; and through Worldline, secure 5 billion transactions each year. The Atos security portfolio covers the complete range of services from mobile security, fraud management through to secure innovation platforms and trusted cloud services.  Atos recently unveiled its Cyber Security vision in a dedicated campaign: "Ready for Anything.”
