The Rio2007 Event The PanAmerican Games were celebrated from 13 to 29 July 2007 and Para-PanAmerican from 12 to 19 August 2007. It saw 42 teams with 5.662 athletes compete in 41 sports spread in 29 competition venues and 11 non-competition venues.
The Project Atos Origin was selected as Prime Integrator by the Brazilian Government following a public tender. The project was delivered in 10 months (from October’06 to July’07) for the Games and continues until December 2007 for the corporate part. As part of the overall testing and readiness strategy, 2 Test Events were held: “Campeonato Militar de Pentatlon Moderno” and “Desafio Internacional de Handball” but also, 2 cross sports and 2 multi sports tests, sport homologation tests, full disaster recovery exercise and finally 2 Technical Rehearsals.

- Provided close to 2,500 workstations for corporate and Games purposes
- Citta Area (AO IT Office Space, LAB, TOC and Training Rooms) with 279 workstations
- Provided 600 printers
- Provided 200 switches in the venues
- The IT Security realtime monitoring system generated 3.500 events per minute, but only 64 tickets required manual investigation, none of them put the operation at risk
- 2,000 staff during the Games under Atos Origin supervision including Atos Origin staff, volunteers and subcontractors
- 200 people were working to cover the positions of TOC
