Atos, an international IT services company, today announced that it has appointed Paul Stewart, CEO of Canopy, a new company dedicated to cloud computing that will be created following the recently announced strategic partnership for open cloud computing between Atos, EMC and VMware.|
Paul will be responsible for leading the strategic direction of Canopy to position it as a leading player in the growing market of cloud computing.

Based on best-of-breed technology from global cloud computing industry leaders EMC and VMware, the new offerings from Canopy will include an open cloud platform that enables customers to easily and flexibly choose, access and deploy cloud-based services for their enterprise IT needs.

Prior to this new role, Paul successfully led and grew the Atos Origin business in North America, as CEO of North America. He also led the integration of Siemens IT Solutions and Services in the region following the acquisition in July 2011, before becoming the COO of Atos in North America on July 1st 2011.
