“I am pleased to announce that our second corporate responsibility report achieved an A+ rating by GRI. This official recognition highlights our continued and long-term commitment to place sustainability as the foundation of our corporate strategy. It also demonstrates our progress in realizing our ambition to be recognized as one of the best companies to work for our commitment to corporate sustainability and - through our global wellbeing@work programme - our capacity to attract and retain the best talents,” said, Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO of Atos Origin.
Sustainability is foundation of the Group’s strategy – key achievements
As the first IT services company that joined GRI in 2009, the company has made considerable progress in its sustainable achievements. Within its transformation program TOP (Total Operational Performance), the Group has committed to establishing sustainability at the core of its strategy and business processes. In 2010, Atos Origin delivered a number of business, social and environmental commitments including:
- Launched its “Well Being @ Work” initiative, to achieve tangible improvements in employees’ work environment and announced its ambition to run a business without internal email within 3 years;
- Joined the United Nations Global Compact – to operate under universally recognized responsible business principles;
- Has realized a 16% reduction in its global carbon footprint since 2008 at comparable scope; and decided to offset the carbon emissions of all its data-centers worldwide, thus becoming the first international IT Group to offer Carbon Neutral hosting services;
- Developed a Sustainable Solutions portfolio – Ambition Carbon Free, Smart Grid, Intelligent Workplaces, Green IT – that enable clients to transform to a sustainable business model.
“Sustainability is the foundation of the Group’s strategy and indispensable in today’s competitive market to make our customers thrive. We have implemented sustainable best practices throughout our organization worldwide, and with our innovative Sustainability Solutions portfolio, we help our clients maximize the opportunities that sustainability offers.” Thierry Breton added.
Supporting clients on their journey towards more sustainable operations
The Group understands the role it has to play through developing solutions that allow its clients to operate in a more sustainable way which is both good for their own business and for the environment. Atos Origin’s “Firm of the Future” strategy helps its clients transform to a sustainable, collaborative and adaptive organization addressing both strategic and operational levels and the supporting infrastructure.
